Andy Bissell is currently the Major League Coaching Assistant with the Seattle Mariners, where he assists in all facets of the Mariner's coaching and game preparation processes.
Andy Bissell is currently the Major League Coaching Assistant with the Seattle Mariners. He just finished his 4th season in this role, where he assists in all facets of the Mariner’s coaching and game preparation processes.
Previously, in 2019, he served as the first base coach and catching coach with the Arkansas Travelers, the Mariners AA affiliate. There, he worked with major league catchers Joe Odom and Cal Raleigh.
Before coaching with the Mariners, Andy was the Director of Operations and Catching and Hitting Instructor at Bardo’s Diamond Sports, a premier training facility in Denver, Colorado. Andy led hitting and catching 1-on-1 and group training sessions for players aged 8-18. While in Colorado, Andy also served as the catching coach for 2 seasons at Valor Christian High School.
Andy attended and played baseball at Sacramento City College before transferring to Azusa Pacific University to continue his baseball career. He received two bachelor’s degrees from APU in Kinesiology and Sports Psychology in 2016.
With an education in human movement and sports psychology, as well as his 12 years of experience coaching players at every age and skill level, Andy brings an integrated approach to developing young athletes.
